This is a terrific wine at any price but an outright steal for $20. It shows very nice richness and fruitiness, as one would expect for a New World wine. However, the big surprise is that it also shows exceptional minerality, a savory black olive note, and leathery accents that could lead one to guess that this was a Saint-Joseph or Crozes Hermitage from the Northern Rhône that then a rendition of Syrah from new Zealand. Bloody impressive stuff.
