I’ll be the first to say that I’m not generally all for gimmickery when it comes to wood on wine, but this is a winner – perhaps the Bourbon barrels are on a later use that is imparting just the faintest touch of what you might expect instead of bulldozing the fruit with too much spice. If you didn’t know about the barrels, you wouldn’t notice them here in anything but a positive way. Press on! A Platinum Award winner at the 2020 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition.
