Gap’s Crown is gaining a reputation as one of California’s premier Pinot Noir vineyards, and this wine is a great example of why that’s the case. The fruit profile is on the darker side, with aromas of currants and black cherry mixed with Asian spice and sarsaparilla. The palate delivers the nose in linear fashion over vibrant acidity and beautifully stylized oak notes. It’s very long and food friendly, with a touch of cola coming forward in the long finish. Excellent!
