G. D. Vajra, Langhe (Piedmont, Italy) Nebbiolo 2016

 This is 100% Nebbiolo made by one of Barolo’s best and most consistent producers, and it is vastly better than most “Langhe Nebbiolo” wines.  Indeed, this would put a lot of bottles of Barolo or Barbaresco to shame — for half the price.  Very expressive, this shows a subtle floral bouquet and plum-like fruit flavors enriched by echoes of licorice and exotic teas.
