Costers del Priorat, Priorat (Spain) 2016

Aug 9, 2018

By Paul Lukacs

A young but surprisingly accessible Priorat, this wine avoids the syrupy quality that characterizes many high alcohol wines from this hot, old vine region south of Barcelona.  It instead tastes fresh and vibrant, with bright fruit flavors that become enhanced by meaty, savory undercurrents.  Although it is a candidate for at least moderate (five years or so) cellaring, it’s delicious right now.
