A classic Napa Valley style is on display here, with old school structure and weight and no hints of overripe fruit thanks to a long, cool growing season in 2016. It’s a complex mix of blackberry, black cherry, gentle dried herbs and tamed baking spices that ride supple tannins through a slow cruising finish were all the elements are well integrated already, thought there’s serious aging potential here. This is the sort of wine that the valley made its reputation on. Contains 6% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec.
