A dash of raspberry on the nose and in the mouth separates this wine from the crowd, and it lingers through a mix of dry earth, rhubarb, easy oak toast and a little clove spiked orange peel. The acidity is really singing here, and it keeps the flavors coming through an extended finish. This is great now, and will continue to deepen with further cellaring — very solid wine. Contains clones Pommard, Beringer Heritage, 115, 667 and 777.
