Los Vascos, Colchagua Valley (Chile) Syrah 2020

 Both the Cabernet Franc and this Syrah in the Gran Reserva "Cromas” line are so well grown and made that I found it impossible to find a point’s worth of difference in their quality for scoring.  This is a bigger and more flavorful wine, but then, as Syrah — it should be.  However, it isn’t even close to the stereotype of Shiraz, but rather tastes as much Old World as New (which is what Chile, Uruguay and South Africa alone seems capable of outside of Europe).  Terrific flavor and detail here for the asking price.
