This is the fourth vintage of J. Lohr winery’s flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, and once again it a worthy carrier of founder Jerry Lohr’s signature. Riper than the previous vintages, it shows plenty of forward berry fruit and oak spice, all managed beautifully by Steve Peck’s team. Supple structure carries the mix into the distance. I wouldn’t age this long like previous vintages. It is great right now and will likely peak earlier – 5 years or so would be my guess.
