I’m pleased to report that Dan Goldfield continues to produce stellar Alsatian styled whites in addition to the great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that dominate the winery portfolio. He clearly has just as much energy and affinity for Gewurztraminer as the Burgundian varieties, and he shows it again with the 2018 bottling. Focused white flower aromas entice you to discover a palate laden with expressive citrus, honey and ginger, all delivered in dry, lip-smacking style. I love this all by itself, but if pressed I could drink it with just about anything on a fish driven table.
