Good luck getting more bang for your buck than what you’ll find in this everyday-priced Merlot from Paso and J. Lohr. It provides lots of punch fruit but without any grapey or obvious character, nor any excess residual sugar. Clearly more the result of work in the vineyard than the cellar, but is pure, honest Merlot leaning toward the fuller side of the medium-bodied profile.
