Talenti, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG (Tuscany, Italy) 2015

 Talenti must have harvested the Sangiovese at precisely the right time in 2015, judging from the balance in this wine.  The 2015 growing season in Montalcino was, similar to the remainder of Tuscany, hot and produced rich, ripe wines, sometimes even over-ripe and jam-y ones.  Talenti’s 2015 is ripe, but not overdone, with suave tannins.   Despite its power, it’s a graceful and refined wine that finishes with a delightful touch of bitterness.   Its plush texture provides immediate pleasure, but its balance suggests wonderful evolution with a decade of bottle age.
