The Gewurztraminer ("guh VERTS trah meaner") grape name may seem daunting, but the grape makes lovely wines like this 2022 vintage from Bouchaine. The color is light yellow with golden highlights from the grape’s skin. It has exotic floral aromas of rose blossom, geranium, and Meyer lemon peel, with round and crisp textures in the mouth. The finish is medium in length. Winemaker Chris Kajani, formerly at Saintsbury, has been Bouchaine’s Head Winemaker and General Manager since 2015. Her women-powered pruning crew is a distinctive part of her team.
