Ehlers Estate, St. Helena – Napa Valley (California) Cabernet Franc 2021

 It struck me that the red wines I tasted from Ehlers’ 2021vintage were all somewhat aggressive, and that it might be a tannin overload or tannins that aren’t easily integrating even after time outside the bottle.  This Cabernet Franc, however, is the most appealing – smooth textures with mellow notes of blackberries and chocolate, although the tannins still leap out somewhat.
