A bottle of Montes no longer seems to hold the element of surprise that is once did, but through the years it has come to more often represent a standard of solid quality at an affordable price. The fruit flavors are more mulled than distinct – blackberries and mulberries – blended in with light tannins and barrel flavors. Structurally, most of the impact comes late in the taste, which adds to the satisfaction.
