Rock Ferry’s 3rd Rock Sauvignon Blanc is wonderfully elegant. A smaller producer, they have elevated the traditional New Zealand power-and-punch classic. Their Sauvignon Blanc displays true-to-terroir tropical fruit and grapefruit notes while the acidity is abundant but balanced. While Rock Ferry has captured all the key fruit and acid characteristics, the mouthfeel is sensual and inviting. I appreciate Rock Ferry’s approach to Sauvignon Blanc, producing results that can be appreciated by a wide range of folks from wine nerds to new drinkers.
