Álvaro Palacios, who oversees Descendientes de J. Palacios in Bierzo, is drawing the attention to Mencía that it deserves. The 2018 vintage of "Petalos" is well concentrated with rounded cherry, blueberry, and wood spice aromas and flavors. It is drinking beautifully with a smooth and persistent finish. Very hard to resist at this price.
