Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg, Kamptal (Niederösterriech, Austria) Grüner Veltliner 2019

 The river Kamp flows south into the Danube at the heart of Austria’s best vineyard area for Grüner Veltliner wines.  Schloss Gobelsburg is a legendary producer of Grüner Veltliners from the Kamptal.  The 2019 Grüner is juicy, fresh and bursting with aromas of green apple, lemon and lime fruits enhanced by the distinctive herb and spice elements of the grape.  The fresh green bean and white pepper tones add a unique appeal and complexity to the juicy fruit.  The flavors are clean and bright, with pure fruit expression and a full texture.  It all makes for a versatile and pleasing white wine.  Grüner Veltliner pairs especially well with vegetable recipes, be they based on broccoli, green beans, cauliflower or asparagus.  Its inherent green nuances make it a versatile companion for seafood dishes with a fresh green herb component as well.
