Korbel doesn’t bottle this wine separately from its regular non-vintage Brut just to appeal to the organic crowd – it’s often vintage dated, and it is a different blend. The 2018 is a mix of Columbard, Sangiovese and Chardonnay, and it brings a unique profile to the sparkling wine marketplace. There is a faint cherry note from the Sangiovese that intrigues, and bright acidity and a lingering toasty finish has me revisiting again and again. A Platinum Award winner at the 2021 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge.
