Charred oak can be a tricky thing in a winery – there’s a very fine line where the wood influence can overwhelm the fruit and make the wine taste bacon infused or even burnt. This wine walks right up to the line, then turns away, letting the violets and blackberry fruit speak clearly. I would savor this with lamb shish kebab.
