Just as I was about to write glowingly about this wine coming from an unexpected source, I recalled that I’ve written about previous vintages from Barboursville Vineyards, who has clearly come up with a perfect spot to plant the variety. It’s quite complex, with layered lemon, lime, soft grass and stony minerality all present from start to finish. Seems to me like the perfect pairing for east coast oysters.
