Jeff Runquist has a way with Barbera – particularly when it comes from this famed site in the foothills. This vintage is but another piece of evidence to back my claim, showing lively fruit, orange zest, and the classic acid profile for which the variety is known. At this ripeness level, that’s no easy achievement. Not a trace of alcoholic heat is detectable, and the flavor keeps coming at you.
