Tempranillo is the star variety in the red wines in Rioja. However, its expression can vary wildly from producer to producer. Bodega 202’s 100 percent Tempranillo, "Ansa, the ‘most beloved’ in Gaelic, is characterful and expressive, with an acid–tannin crescendo that provides freshness and speaks of the variety. Black cherry, blackberry, smoke, and spice box notes pop from the glass and lead to a wine with excellent volume. The palate is long and complex, with a pure finish.
