This is a “classically Californian” expression of Cabernet Sauvignon, one you might expect from further north in the state, showing blackberry, cassis, dried herbs, a dash of bell pepper and some crushed rock minerality, all present aromatically and on the palate. The texture is rich with tension between the flavors, and it’s well integrated already. It has few peers in its price category. Decant well and enjoy with a seared sirloin.
