This wine leans white Burgundy in the best of ways, and while it’s lurking in the background now, I see it coming forward over time. Apple, pear and a dash of citrus are showing in aroma and flavor, and as the rigid acidity recedes, there will be real beauty here. This is one of the more reliable age-worthy Chardonnays in California, and this vintage is no different.
