Herdade Do Esporao, Alentejano (Portugal) 2021

Jul 20, 2022

By Marguerite Thomas

A blend of 40% Roupeiro (a disease-resistant high quality and perfumy white grape native to Portugal); 40% Antão Vaz (one of Portugal’s top wine grapes, a versatile white grape that can yield wines with topical fruit flavors suitable for aging or, if picked early, more delicate high-acid wine); 20% Perrum (a low acid grape widely grown in warm climate regions such as Spain, where it is especially popular in Jerez, and California, where it is known as the Mission grape).  Fermented in stainless steel tanks, Monte Velho Branco is well balanced and has a generous finish.
