Minimal utilization of new oak can really let the unique characteristics of a particular site speak clearly. That’s the aim here, with 30% new oak adding complementary aromatics of incense and fall spice to the lively black cherry fruit. A little bright raspberry edge joins the party on the palate over bright acidity. It’s difficult to get to both supple and zesty in the same package — objective achieved.
