Fidélitas sources this Malbec from The Canyons vineyard, located on the western edge overlooking the Yakima River. This wine is big, as are most Red Mountain wines, and shows traditional blue fruit and white pepper notes. It was the earthiness of the wine, specifically suggestions of pencil shavings and clay, that caught my attention. This wine needs some serious decanting if you are planning on opening anytime soon, but it was a top performer out of the lineup during a recent visit to the winery.
