If you haven’t ventured past winemaker Rusty Folena’s exquisite Sangiovese line, you will want to make sure you give this Aglianico a spin. A variety native to the southern regions of Italy, Rusty’s got it firing on all cylinders as you might expect. It carries rich dark fruit character, with soft notes of oak char and sage adding depth. Some supple grip and a citrus kiss give the integrated finish good push. Think hearty dishes when pairing — a pasta carbonara or a porterhouse promise pleasure. Don’t miss this!
