Cyclades islands such as Santorini are excellent sources for modern-day Greek wines, especially Assyrtiko. Gavalas’ Posta utilizes their younger Assyrtiko plantings and blends them with 40% Monemvasia. The addition of Monemvasia, an early ripening and high yielding grape, provides body and supports the integration of fine lees into the flavor palate of this wine. Posta is a creamy and balanced white that is designed to drink in its youth. Stock up before spring arrives and pair this wine with a sunny picnic – you will think summer has already arrived.
