Mar de Viñas, Val do Salnés – Rías Baixas (Galicia, Spain) Albariño 2022

 One of several releases each year from different plots utilized by Bodegas Gran Vinum, the Mar de Viñas Albariño is terrific from the 2022 vintage.  The key to its excellence is a combination of generous palate weight with vibrant flavors energized by excellent acidity and a touch of saline minerality.  Although a new vintage of this wine will presumably become available next spring, don’t wait for that on the assumption that this wine is tiring out.  It is definitely not, and my guess is that it still hasn’t reached its apex.  And as an aside, this would be a great white choice for Thanksgiving feast.
