Yount Ridge’s 2011 Proprietary Blend is aging quite well and should be drunk sooner rather than later. Showing its age, the wine’s color is showing more brown and orange flecks within its still ruby hue. On the nose, the wine is showing a bit more age than expected, with faint notes of red and black fruits playing second fiddle to tilled soil, leather, and dried flowers. In the mouth, however, this wine is still very much alive with flavors of cherries, strawberries, and a subtle milk chocolate note paired with bright acidity, and silky, mostly resolved tannins.
