Sometimes the “American” designation can put buyers off – that’s why Portlandia opted to list the sourcing as being 72% Washington and 28% Oregon. Now, you might say, “that’s not a whole lot more specific,” but it does let you know that a choice was made in a specific way to make a very pretty Pinot Gris. It is quite correct on the nose and in the mouth, with lively aromas and flavors that are fresh and attractive throughout, finishing with a soft pithy note that helps the fruit character to linger. The winemaking team did a great job with this!
