Ticino, the southernmost region of Switzerland, offers complex, versatile wines, including red and white Merlot, ideally suited to the hearty Italian-influenced foods of this mountainous region. Delea "Chiar di Luna" is a lush, crisp white wine made from Merlot with remarkably no pigmentation. When making white Merlot, during winemaking contact of grape skins with juice is minimized — in the same way that rosé wines are created. The 2018 Bianco di Merlot offers a concentrated bouquet of pear, peach, melon, and slate that follow through to a textured palate. The wine exudes crispness, tension, minerality, and lingering acidity on the finish.
