I will be the first to admit that my experience with Ohio Pinot Noir is limited. In fact, it’s limited to this bottle. That said, this Pinot from Hocking Hills Winery is quite interesting. It is very light in color and body, with subtle varietally correct aromatics, but it’s fairly bright on the palate, with soft spice and earth tones joining strawberry fruit. The finish carries thanks to bright acidity, and overall it’s a solid effort, and a likely harbinger of the future.
