Oremus, Tokaj (Hungary) Dry Furmint 2019

 Oremus is one of the most widely known wineries in Tokaji. The Alvarez family acquired the property in 1993, and yes, that’s the family that owns the iconic Vega Sicilia estate in Spain.  It’s their only venture outside of Spain.  The 2020 Oremus Mandolás Furmint begins with an aromatic and harmonious bouquet of apricot, lime, green apple, shaved ginger, and a touch of clove.  Rich, vibrant fruit with excellent depth of flavor combines on the palate with a hint of spiciness in this balanced and immensely pleasurable wine.  Crisp with minerality woven throughout, it ends with a persistent and savory finish.  This will only grow in complexity over the next few years.
