The dark, earthy expression possible with Pinot Noir is on display here, joined with mixed dark cherry fruit, a fair amount of oak and a lot of spice from that oak. That said, it is a very tasty wine – one that will win over folks who find the variety generally too light for their tastes. Lean to the meatier side of the menu when pairing.
