Cleto Chiarli e Figli, Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC (Emilia-Romagna, Italy) 2022

 I have been told that Lambrusco is that rare sparkling wine that also serves as an everyday table wine as well.  In this instance, in the Emilia area west of Bologna where historically it has been paired with pork, the primary meat of the area, because its bubbles and crisp acidity cut through the meat’s fattiness.  It makes sense, whether true or apocryphal.  This one is a lovely and fresh frothy pink with good, fresh, creamy strawberry fruitiness and equally crisp acidity and some bitters notes to go with it.
