The 2019 Langhe Freisa Kyè is an elegant wine. Freisa is a little-known Piedmontese red grape variety that’s vinified into many styles of wines. This expression is reminiscent of Nebbiolo. Kyé means "who is?" and represents the surprise for this indigenous and nearly-forgotten grape. Orange zest, raspberry, mint, sage, and dried herbs lend nuance to this luscious and beautifully layered Freisa. It is medium-bodied, with fine-grained tannins and mouthwatering acidity, with a persistent and highly aromatic finish. The 2019 is the perfect calling card for this estate and should be considered a must-try for any Italian wine lover.
