J Vineyards & Winery, Russian River Valley (Sonoma County, California) Pinot Noir 2022

 Regardless of who owns this brand, I have always thought of the Russian River Pinot Noirs as the quintessential Sonoma Pinot, more flavorful and not as big as many more famous from the Sonoma Coast.  This is a wine you stay with vintage after vintage for consistency.  It is complex in structure as well as flavor – a blast of black raspberry fruit immediately followed by a metallic minerality and a shot of acidity.  Just delightful and at a bargain price.
