Normally, Cinsault wallows in obscurity (being one of the parents of Pinotage may be one reason), but it comes alive in Rosés. This is one of the best pinks I have tasted recently from Languedoc, which has to play second fiddle to Provence in the category, and I’m giving Cinsault part of the credit. It has nice floral aromas and flavors of pink grapefruit, some white peach and a lilting note of vanilla. It is of medium weight and the structure, and the price tag ain’t bad, either.
