In the AVAs of lower Napa Valley, Oak Knoll has increasingly become the staging ground for fine Cabernet Sauvignons, slowly catching up in cache with Oakville, Rutherford and Stags Leap. This one is made by well-known vintner Kirk Venge, and it is a delight – beautiful, smooth, creamy black fruits flowing across the palate in a show of structure, texture, and flavors with lots of fine tannins in the finish. The grapes come from the XI and Destin vineyards.
