Named after Elva Poncetta, who built a gravity flow winery on the Burgess property in the 1890s, this 2018 Cabernet Franc has tremendous purity to the fruit, which is balanced perfectly with earthy minerality notes. This “Elva” bottling expertly blends traditional Old World notes and vibrant California fruit. It has vivid aromas and flavors of violets, black raspberry, cranberry, black plum skin, pomegranate, tobacco leaf, mint, and ground black pepper. The lush tannins and freshness suggest this will continue to be a delight over the next decade.
