Doubleback, Walla Walla Valley (Washington) Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Aug 20, 2024

By Vince Simmon

When Drew Bledsoe retired from the NFL, he returned to his hometown of Walla Walla, Washington and began his journey into the wine industry.  Teaming up with acclaimed Washington winemaker and friend, Chris Figgins, his Doubleback winery quickly became well known for making top quality Washington wines.  This 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, an earlier vintage from the winery, was produced while Chris Figgins was still at the helm, and it is drinking excellently today.  Black cherry and black currants blend smoothly with pencil shavings, cocoa, violets, and eucalyptus.  The wine is wonderfully balanced and still drinking with a ton of power despite having over a decade of age on it.  Good news, you can still find this vintage on the market today.
