This is a beastie, but it is very well managed in the style that it’s aiming at. There is plenty of oak, but the ripe fruit is up to the load, and while the fruit is quite jammy in character, the oak toast and spice level is well chosen, making a layered wine in an as-bold-as-possible-without-turning-into-port style. Not necessarily my thing, but there are plenty of fans of this style. Serve with Kansas City BBQ! Contains 78% Cabernet Franc, 11% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot.
