As I have noted before, many Chianti Classico producers have begun to up their game after too many ho-hum Gran Selezione offerings, and this Ruffino certainly more than justifies its rather modest price tag. It is very enjoyable, well-structured, with an almost creamy fruitiness of dried cherries and dried savory herbs and with the expected dusty Sangiovese tannins in the finish.
