Eleven Eleven, Oak Knoll – Napa Valley (California) Destin Vineyard Syrah 2021 ($90)

I am a sucker for any Syrah that could be mistaken for a top one from the northern Rhône, and that is what consulting winemaker Kirk Venge has crafted here, one with lots of savory, earthy, almost gamey dark-berry flavors, great structure and lots of savory tannins. Eleven Eleven is quickly establishing itself as one of the best wineries in the lower Valley.
