Not all Napa Valley Cabernet producers have a second-label wine in the Bordeaux manner, but BV has long cultivated that practice, and its not-quite-everyday red is always well-worth searching out for quality and price. It has full-bodied black cherry and blackberry fruit with savory notes in the finish and well-integrated tannins. If you like aged wines that aren’t all “collector’s items” this one will reward you for at least the next dozen years.
