Masca del Tacco, Primitivo di Manduria (Puglia, Italy) “Lu Rappaio” 2022 ($35, Caput Mundi Wine Imports)

Masca del Tacco, under the tutelage of Felice Mergè, has been modernizing its winery and expanding its vineyards. I found their Lu Rappaio incredibly balanced and nicely structured. Nothing is overdone. Lu Rappio is easily enjoyable with hints of minerality, tobacco, and leather complementing black cherry and strawberry jam notes.
