Anselmet, Vallée d’Aoste DOC (Italy) Petite Arvine 2020

Apr 12, 2022

By Michael Apstein

Petite Arvine, commonly known just as Arvine, is native and almost exclusive to the Valais in Switzerland, but there are a few acres of it planted in the Aosta Valley.  This one has a Viognier-like character, fruity and floral, yet not sweet.  Indeed, there is a welcome balancing hint of bitterness in the finish.  An exuberant wine, in the nicest way, it would be an excellent choice for spicy Asian or Latin American fare.
